Description

This course provides an overview of the fundamental legal documents for effective estate planning. Topics include the structure and purpose of Wills and Trusts, key distinctions between these planning tools, tax consequences of each, and an outline of the types of trusts used in practice. The curriculum includes an examination of proper asset titling, the coordination of beneficiary designations and the considerations in the appointment of Trustees, Executors and other fiduciaries. The course also incorporates the importance of life planning – Powers of Attorney and Health Care Directives. In addition, common estate planning strategies and the legal considerations in implementing the options will be given.
