Howland Blackiston Beekeeping Workshop #3: Sweet Rewards

Howland Blackiston is the author of "Beekeeping for Dummies" (Fifth Edition 2020 John Wiley & Sons), "Honey for Dummies" (with C. Marina Marchese, 2021 John Wiley & Sons), and "Building Beehives for Dummies" (2013 John Wiley & Sons). "Beekeeping for Dummies" has been the number one best-selling book on beekeeping in the Nation for more than two decades, and is one of top-selling titles in the  “For Dummies” series of reference books.

Howland has been a backyard beekeeper since 1983. He has written hundreds of articles on beekeeping and appeared on dozens of television shows, radio programs, and in numerous magazines (including The Discovery Channel, CNBC, Sirius Radio, XM Radio, Metro Learning, Cablevision, NPR, Traditional Gardening, House and Garden, and scores of regional shows and newspapers). He is a frequent and entertaining speaker at clubs, schools and associations throughout the USA. Howland’s presentation style is lively, humorous, participative, and rich with "betcha-didn't-know" content. He strives to leave his audiences (both young and old) entertained with lots of fun and interesting information and facts about honey bees, honey, and beekeeping.

Howland’s various books, papers, and publications have been translated into 16 languages.

Howland is a founding board member and past President of Connecticut’s Back Yard Beekeepers Association, one of the nation’s largest regional clubs for the hobbyist beekeeper.
