Description
Charles Bargue was a French painter and lithographer noted for devising an influential drawing course in collaboration with Jean-Leon Gerome published around 1887. This class will use the lithographs Charles Bargue created for training artists at École des Beaux-Arts in the late 1800’s. Students will learn the structured sequence and methods of drawings that artists at the French Academy used in the past. This method is still used at academies and ateliers which focus on realism. Students will be guided through the beginning process of measuring and taught how to check their drawings for accuracy. This method will significantly improve drawing skills. We will be using pencils as a medium.
