Description
Learn techniques of the Masters from da Vinci to Monet. Explore canvas preparation, color mixing, values, and perspectives in this open studio format. Bring your photo and sketch pad to the first class. Individualized, personal guidance will be provided while you explore the fun of artistic expression.
Please bring your supplies to each class. For new students, visit Jerry's Artarama for a starter kit in either oil or acrylics.
For those artists, who are continuing and expanding, the following is a suggested materials list.
Colors: Use the best quality you can afford. This list is for both oils and acrylics: Titanium White-Big Tube, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red Light, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Yellow Ochre, Raw Sienna, Raw Umber, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian Green. Additional Materials: 1 quart of Turpenoid (oils only), 1 tube acrylic gel, 1 quart plastic container for water (acrylics only), 1 or 2 pre-stretched canvases or canvas boards. Brushes: The instructor highly recommends those made by Robert Simmons. 1-#8 Robert Simmons signet filbert, 2-#6, 2-#4, 2-#2, 1 palette knife. Tara #7072 is a good style for mixing and cleaning your palette. 1 wooden palette. A paper palette for acrylics. Choose a size that is comfortable for you. The bigger the better for more space to mix colors. 1-sketch pad approximately 9" x 12", 2-#3b or #4b pencils.Related Class Offerings
