Description

Day 1 (2.5 hours)
In this two day hands-on workshop, students will practice taking photographs that convey what they are feeling about a subject. The class will meet at Merwin Meadows or another specified Wilton location. The theme will be Earth Day or self assigned. Students will shoot for 2.5 hours. Fredda Gordon will work one-on-one with students throughout the shoot, teaching them fundamental technical knowledge. Students will work on enhancing their creative vision through the use of composition, depth of field, motion and more. Students can continue the project during the week.

At home
Students will download their photos to their computers and choose up to 20 images to share in the next class. Students can either bring these images to the next class or send them via WeTransfer to the teacher before class starts. If this is not an option for students, then students can bring their camera to class 15 minutes prior to class and Fredda Gordon will handle the download.

Day 2 (2.5 hours)
Students will bring their chosen photos to class. The class will view the images on a large screen. Fredda will do minor editing and discuss best practices, commenting on what worked best and what other approaches or techniques might have been used to change or make the image more impactful. These would then be put together in a slideshow and presented to the class. If there is time the teacher will instruct on how to make a book with these images.
